Sawmill Creek, established in 1999, is currently undergoing significant enhancements, with updated sand for the bunkers and a new team in place, indicating a bright future. It was originally designed by Doug Carrick and later upgraded by Rene Muylaert, attracting golfers from across the region, including Windsor, London, and Kitchener-Waterloo. The club maintains a limited membership policy to reduce competition for tee times.
The course is a par 71, with six par-threes, four par-fives, and eight par-fours, stretching 6,281 yards from the black tees and 5,053 yards from the forward tees. Its fescue-lined fairways give it a contemporary links-style appearance. Notably, LPGA star Brooke Henderson competed here during the 2010 Canadian Junior Women's Championships.
For optimal play at Sawmill Creek, keep your shots in play, aim for the flatter areas on the greens, and avoid overly aggressive putting. The clubhouse is designed in a Victorian style and features six rooms available for "Stay 'n Play" packages, as well as a popular patio and pub. The main dining room can accommodate up to 200 guests, making it ideal for weddings and tournaments, while the patio serves a variety of pub-style dishes.
